Familiar is so comfortable, but does it make it right?

The Pauper saw it in the Prince's eyes when he was saying goodbye - he was going to be alright. Even though the Pauper wasn't going to be at his side, he would conquer new worlds that made his previous adventures with the Pauper seem childish in comparison. As the Prince held the mast and stared into his new life, he hardly noticed the cowering Pauper weeping along the shore. Days passed before the Pauper heard word of the Prince's victory.  And though the Pauper wanted to express excitement, the Pauper knew that the Prince was growing fond of his new life and would soon forget about his mate from long ago. Weeks turned into months and eventually the Pauper realized memories could no longer fill the void. The Pauper took the time to heal. Several months had past before the Pauper stepped out into the streets with vigor. Strong as any and happy too, while all the while the Prince's fate was turning for the worse. For the Prince had not forgotten his mate from long ago and though he tried to find excitement in the present circumstance, he longed more each moment for the adventures of the past. Meanwhile the Pauper walked the streets with head held high, for another chapter had unfolded. It was amidst this new found strength that the unexpected happened and set the Pauper at confusions end. The Prince came back. He came back not to visit home but specifically to embrace his mate from long ago. The Prince expressed his voyage had been in vain and asked for another adventure with his old friend - among the woods and trampled earth where secrets there were none. To relive those memories, those glorious moments, and open up the possibility of abandonment or walk away with heart in tact? Uncertainty weighed heavy while tough thoughts the Pauper did ponder.

The Prince was faced with the "Silence of the Storm"
